Digital Currency Group in Washington D.C.

The Ohio Blockchain Council had the privilege of joining industry colleagues as a part of a Digital Currency Group initiative in Washington, DC. Our mission was to educate lawmakers on the benefits of Bitcoin and emphasize the importance of Bitcoin mining and Proof-of-Work in achieving energy abundance and resilience in the nation's power grids.

After discussions, it was evident that lawmakers were strategically considering how to leverage these technologies to lead in the 21st-century digital economy. Gratitude was extended to fellow Ohioan Julie Stitzel for the invitation, and thanks were given to Kyle Schneps of Foundry and Anita N. of Inca Digital for their expertise throughout the meetings. Appreciation was also expressed to Dave Grimaldi of Blockchain Association for his guidance, and to Seth Hertlein for his leadership in global policy efforts.

With the recent bipartisan passage of FIT21 legislation in the US House by an overwhelming 279-136 majority, it became clear that legislators now had the opportunity to support or hinder the progress of this enduring technology.
